On our last night in London, we treated ourselves to a nice dinner at Aquashard, a contemporary restaurant on the 31st floor of the Shard, the tallest building in EU. It was much louder than I expected - very lively, crowded bar/restaurant. Floor to ceiling windows showcased the beautiful city of London. Food was surprisingly good as well. I enjoyed my roasted salmon with Welsh mussels, black rice cream, marsh samphire, orange & corriander sauce - such a medley of contrasting flavors and textures! and B enjoyed his duck, along with an endive & blood orange salad. Definitely a splurge, but worth to try once for the view and reflecting on our wonderful time in London.

A compilation of what I ate in London. (In addition to Hawksmoor, Borough Market & Aquashard)
- Vietnamese spring rolls & pho at Mien Tay in Pho Mile, Shoreditch area
- Hot Salt Beef - Brick Lane Market
- £10 steak at Flatiron. Lovely juicy, tender shoulder cut with nice beef flavor and a cute little cleaver.
- My fav coffee chain - Pret! Great salmon sandwich. Love the Americanos. (Also missing the Flat White from Costa Coffee.. )
- Happy moment - found Stella Apple & Pear Cider at a local convience store
- Sourdough pizza with anchovies, tomato, garlic, oregano, capers, olives, mozzerella - omg jam packed with salty anchovies goodness! at Franco Manca
- Fish & Chips - flaky, meaty goodness. The mushy peas were great as well!
- Fresh juices from M&S to make up for lack of fruit & veg
- The best ham & cheese crepe ever! at Creperie Angelie, Bicester Village
- Amorino gelato
- Udon at Koya, in Soho
- Cottage pie ~ must squeeze in a second pub meal on our last night
Food is around 5gbp per item. We sampled paella, Moong Dal Dosa (spiced lentil crepe filled with masala potato served with a side of chickpeas - crepe was dry and thick but I liked the spiced chickpeas with pomegranate), German sausage and best of all - Moo & Blue beef pie (British beef steak & long clawson stilton pie). I never liked beef pie (or pies in general) until I had this one - flaky crust, with warm, soft, flavorful beef inside (like Guinness) ... Seriously must try!!
